I don't believe our president is Muslim, but I'm not sure he is Christian, either. Has he made a public profession of faith, like what it says in Romans 10: 8-10? You can tell by his deeds according to James 2:14-26. Just because someone is born in a certain place, like America, doesn't mean he is a Christian. It's what comes out of the mouth that shows what is inside.

Since KVI fired Kirby Wilber, who had the 5-9am slot, I quit listening to KVI. Which is sad, because I listened to KVI since 1989. I remember a lot of hosts being fired from there that I liked, from Mike Seigal, Doug Glant, Mike Reagan, Micheal Medved, and Rush Limbaugh, to name a few. And although Rush is a national host, the others were local, some went on to be national. Now KVI has only national shows, nothing local. I don't know if it's Fisher Broadcasting or FoxNews or what but when they got rid of Kirby for no reason, that was the last straw. So I quit. Now in the morning I listen to Washington Times Radio and David Boze on KTTH. David Boze is the only local conservative talk show host in Western Washington, unless you count Christian radio on KGNW or KCIS. I do listen to them to, when there is a preacher I like on there.

Mom

Yesterday was the day my mom died thirty years ago, Jenny, my sister reminded me. I miss my mom, although I don't remember her well. I don't have any recordings of her. My dad's voice is still fresh in my head, so I remember him more. Mom was a great woman, but I didn't appreciate her enough then. I do now. Some day I will see her and talk to her and listen to her.
I have more pictures of her and I will post them from time to time. For now I need to post some pictures of my brother and his artwork, then I need to post some of my dad's photography. Mom's art was her singing and unfortunatly I can't post her voice, but she had a beautiful voice. She was the soloist at Brookwood Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Ohio.
Life is funny. I'm going to be singing in church for Christmas. I'm not any soloist, however.

If the single payer, government run health care gets enacted we will be on that system. The politicians in power now are saying that you will be fined for not buying the new government insurance. Lets say if the government health care passes; business will scratch its chin and say, we think we can save $$$ by having everyone switch to the new "free" plan. The Unions, who supports the politicians in power whole-heartedly, will go along with it. Contracts come and go. The Unions will ask for maybe some compensation but it will never equal, never compensate what we have now. It will in effect become the biggest take-away we've ever had, and the Unions will have endorsed it.

I missed Mute Math http://mutemath.com/ in Seattle on my birthday, October 5th. Oh, well. I need to work on the budget. They need to come back to Stocker's Farm in Snohomish where I saw them at Freedom Fest http://www.freedomfest.org/. I was right up against the stage. I didn't go Oct 5 in Seattle mostly because I couldn't get anyone to go with me, couldn't afford it, and, heck, I'm 54 now. It seems silly for a fat gnome like me to be bouncing up and down in a mosh pit.
Our fearless leader has received the Nobel Peace Prize for ?? What? I nominate George W. Bush for toppling Saddam Hussein, and Ronald Reagan for toppling the Soviet Union. The only other presidents to get it were Jimmy Carter, Theodore Roosevelt, and Woodrow Wilson. Hey, what about Harry Truman who ended World War II? Any of these "prizes" are useless pieces of brass. The prizes that are truly worthy are those earned on the battlefield by real hero's in uniform.
So what it really means is another institution falls to the left which now uses the prize as a weapon of demagogery. You get to where you throw your hand up and say "Who cares?" It's just the left congradulating the left for being leftists. I bet Jenniene Garofelo gets an award for calling anybody who critesizes the knuckleheads, that's right I said knuckleheads, in Oslo racist. Hey, Jenny, guess what? You're a racist!
I don't believe in race. It is a red herring. It is just an excuse to hate people who don't look like you. But, nobody looks alike. God created one race, the human race. Mankind created black, white, yellow, red. I am my brothers keeper no matter what he looks like.
If you think about it those that believe in the ideas of race are racist by definition.
In any case those folks in Oslo have cheapened a once wonderful thing. They should have waited 4 years. They might even change their minds. Let's see how Afganistan goes.

Today is my mom's birthday. She died when she was only 49 from cancer.
I was wild back then and didn't help out much. I don't remember her as
much as I remember Dad, but I miss her. She was a great singer at
Brookwood Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Ohio. I will post some
pictures as soon as I can. I wish I had a recording of her voice. She
is singing in the Eternal Choir at the foot of Jesus the Christ.

Just had a good conversation with a great friend of mine. It brought up
a question. Is it OK for a Christian to read and enjoy stories about
sorcery, or ficitonalized stories of Jesus? If my faith is strong would
God approve of my enjoying such stories as The DaVinci Code? Harry
Potter? Well, what about Star Wars?

I have a torn meniscus. It's in the knee. My knee has been hurting
something fierce since January. I go to the orthopedic surgeon

We are in so much trouble. Our president is so weak and as such puts a
weak face on America. So our enemies look at us as wolves look at smart
alec sheep with the shepard asleep. North Korea launched a missile at
us while the photographers are taking pictures of the Celebrity-in-chief
and the misses and the "jounalists" are clucking, "Don't they look
snappy!" Now the defense secretary is scaling back the military like
Carter did (IRAN), and like Clinton did (IRAQ). You know, when Carter
did that in the 70's my dad was laid off for a couple of years. In the
90's during the Clinton admin. I didn't get laid off, but a lot of my
friends did...Now here we are again. But we're all breathlessly
awaiting the new U2 tour.

Things so far

These has been a hard couple of years. Besides our debt
problems, we had some unmentionable family problems. Then, Mary's
illness took a lot out of us, physically and emotionally. After she got
better (she still experiences pain in her abdomen) we started to have
serious disagreements with folks in our church of 17 years. We left
that church. There is much pain in our hearts about it. And the whole
issue is unmentionable, too. So, we just have to stuff it, keep it
inside and not tell anyone, just Mary and I keep it to ourselves.
Then our daughter got married to a great guy from a great
family. Since we only had just Melanie, Mary and I are "empty-nesters".
So we are happy yet sad.
Now my dad is dying. And I am trying to balance job, family,
money, and actually weather.
I guess I am asking for prayer. I'm already talking to God. If
you talk to him, too, for me it'll help.
Dad is in Mt. Carmel East in Columbus, Ohio with a deteriorating
heart. He had a blood clot in his leg and carved it all up in 3
operations, which means he was on anestesia for a while which made his
heart worse. It is already only 25% functioning.
I'll try to write more often.

November 29th is right around the corner. That is the day Melanie will change her name to Hoeglund. The planning is moving at break neck speed.
My creditors are falling in line. Did we get a bonus? Oh, yeah, we got a bonus. But the giant sucking machine is vacuuming the bonus right out of my wallet. It's just paying for the stuff that didn't get paid while I was parading around with a stupid strike sign next to the county morgue. (I actually did strike duty next to the morgue in the middle of the night, 4am to 8am.)
I switched from Verizon to Comcast because it was cheaper. I am going to try to add a video of U2 to the video section here, to the left.
Work on the 787 is ... well I'm not supposed to talk to the press, so I have nothing to say, at least that the press has already said. AAAAAAAhhhhhhhhh!

The two are acting like gigantic children fighting in a playground. I wish they could just meet in the middle and we could go back to work. This should have been done months and months ago. We go through this every three years and it is tiresome. I can't wait to retire. The sooner the better.

I don't think I support the bailout, but I am not that good with economics to know what to do. I guess there really isn't anything I can do anyway. The markets should have been able to work it out, but the government and the liberals have so messed it up with regulation that who knows. When I hear some of these buffoons in Wash. D.C. talk I want to scream. Voting Republican doesn't always do the trick, you know. There are a lot of liberals or moderates in the Republican party, too. (I can't stand moderates. Can't tell where they are coming from.)

Our daughter's wedding is approaching, and not rapidly. It is difficult what with being on strike and all, all being not having a lot of money even before the strike. When the strike is over I will work as much overtime as I can, probably through the Christmas holidays.

I am done reading "Prince Caspian". A few more books and I'll be done with the Chronicles Of Narnia. The set is for children. I am expecting C. S. Lewis' other works to be more mature. I have started in the past Mere Christianity and The Screwtape Letters, but I never got through them.

Have you ever seen Dr. Zchivago. I rented it from Netflicks. So, I am half way through it; the movie is over three hours long.

Sorry I am such a terrible writer. I started reading a book on writing, so maybe I will improve. In the meantime, blah, blah, blah.

I haven't written for a while. Mainly because I hate to write. I get antsy and want to go do something more constructive, like play my guitar or my synthesizer in the garage.

I am reading. The Chronicles of Narnia at this reading. I am on Prince Caspian. I decided to read as much C. S. Lewis as I can stand. Before this I read John LeCarre' The Spy Who Came In From The Cold. That was after reading Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Honourable Schoolboy, and Smiley's People.

Hey, I know how to stir things up a bit and get some replies! How about that Sarah Palin? She is right on! (Now, no despicable comments from the left, OK? This is a family blog.) I sure hope the nation opens its collective eyes and turns to the right this election. If the country doesn't, it will be a different place in a couple of years. The Chinese are already drilling of our coastline. And I read today that the Russians have sent a warship to the Caribbean. Theodore Roosevelt would never have put up with that. Marriage. Abortion. Immigration. National security. None of it will be the same. May the Lord bless this election.

Boeing strike

I am on strike now. And I am looking for temporary employment. I can't wait to retire. What a way to run a business. Both the union (click on the link for updates) and the company are pathetic. I guess I am , too, since I am in both. I haven't picketed yet.

It is amazing to me that people think we are greedy. You know I think I wrote a similar post the last time we were on strike, or maybe this is just dejavue. (Grab temples and shake back and forth screaming "AAAH!" like Capt. Kirk.) Building an airplane from scratch (almost, as in 787) is not anything like any other career. Would you tell your doctor he earns too much because he just pokes at people all day. How about Oprah Winfrew? What does she do but gab all day on TV? And does T. Bone Pickens work 60 hours a week? How about the CEO of Boeing: how hard a job is that? Boeing Management makes a lot of stupid decisions every day! I could do better than that, and believe me I've tried! I just want a good wage reflecting my 26 years in aviation and a 4 year degree. And some guarentee that the company isn't going to send my job overseas. It's good for me to keep my job here, but it is good for business because the suppliers that are being used have extremely poor quality, and we are reworking their products anyway.

The "death with dignity" measure is going to be on the ballot this
November in Washington State. We live in a dying culture, the "Culture
Of Death". It reminds me of the scene in the book One Flew Over The
CooCoo's Nest. It's not in the movie. Chief Broom wakes up in the
middle of the night to see his floor being lowered like an elevator to
reveal a factory. A conveyor moves a hook to hover over the patient
next to him, and lifts the patient out of his bed to be hauled off to an
unknown disposal. This goes on all night removing patients that are
sick all around Chief Broom. Then the floor raises back up to normal.
He wakes up the next morning and all the beds are freshly made without
the patients. In the future, (or maybe even now) we will have to sign a statement to
be admitted to any hospital or nursing facility, that if we go to a
certain level of dependency (determined by the facility), the facility
will have the right to terminate life, kind of like an abortion.
And abortion. Ah, yes. There are millions of little extra embryos,
that if grown would become fetus's (it's just tissue), then children,
then teenagers, then adults, like Terry Shivo. Hopefully nothing
happens. If I get hurt and hit my head, I might have to go to the
hospital. I might be able to hear you but I just can't talk right now.
I hope I don't fall asleep. I don't remember signing a waiver. I guess
it doesn't matter.

Real life. It's weirder than science fiction.

Our little family will grow somewhat. We met with the other parents Dan and Ruthanne on the 4th of July at the celebration in Legion Park in Everett, Washington. How is it the Supreme Court is able to tell the Bush administration how
to conduct war? Doesn't that violate the separation of powers in the
Constitution? If the SC is able to declare such things as the prisoners
of war housed in Guantanimo should have the same rights as Americans and
that Guantanimo is part of the United States, why couldn't they start
declaring such things in Iraq? What about the way the spies are
conducting things across the globe?

It is interesting the Supreme Court isn't making big declarations about
the behavior of the folks in the UN!

Day after D-Day

Right now I am reading "The Honourable Schoolboy" by John Le
Carre'. I started renting "Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy" from
Netflicks. When it got too deep in the movie I decided to get the book
to follow along. So I ended up reading the book and watching the video
at the same time. Then I rented Smiley's People, and got that book,
and read and watched them at the same time. After, I looked for other
books by John LeCarre' and discovered that "The Honourable Schoolboy"
was a story in between the two. I got the book, but Netflicks doesn't
seem to have a movie of it.
After I get done with "The Honourable Schoolboy" I'll read
"The Spy Who Came In From The Cold". I'm sure there is a movie that
will go with it.

Saw a sign of the side of a dealership, "I'm starting to
wonder if it would be so bad to have 4 years without a president." Just
mentioning it.

Got Jesus yet?

Hello world! Just wanted to post something. I haven't for a while.
I'm at work now and it is a rather stressful day. But with the Lord's

I am constantly trying to update the music, so it's not like I haven't

Wells Cathedral Clock

The famous Wells clock was probably in place by 1390. Bishop Ralph Erghum, who had previously been Bishop of Salisbury and had installed a clock there in 1386, seems to have brought his clockmaker with him to Wells. The Wells clock is unique because it still has its original medieval face, depicting a pre Copernican universe with the earth at its centre. When the clock strikes every quarter, jousting knights rush round above the clock and the Quarter Jack bangs the quarter hours with his heels. An outside clock opposite Vicars' Hall, placed there just over seventy years after is connected with the inside mechanism.

Guitar and song playing

I am working on learning a couple of Jars of Clay songs. The range of the lead singer is closer to mine than, say Newsboys. I am working on Love Song For A Savior. I have just recently discovered "Nashville Tuning" which JOC uses, and makes some of their chords easier. It's EABEBe. But I looked it up on the Internet and Nashville tuning is a lot more involved than that, putting on 12 string strings. I'll just stick to this bit of alternate tuning and tune it back when I'm done. All that fancy tuning is fine when you own about 100 guitars, but when you're just me you do what you can the go to work the next day. I'll post some pics of my guitars.

Jesus is God. He said so. John 8: 58 Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am." What could be plainer? He said He was God in so many different ways. So that means The Almighty Lord of the Universe stepped down from all his majesty and power to be come a helpless little baby, so He could be like one of us. What better way for God to get to know us, and us Him, than to be one of us? To prove He was God He performed many miracles. The best one was for Him to die and then be raised from the dead. So He has a right to say that (John 14: 6) "I am ^(A)the way, and ^(B)the truth, and ^(C)the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."
And so this is Christmas. What have you done about the Christ child, born to bring you second life? Don't let this Christmas slip by without accepting the free gift of eternal life, held out to you as a parent holds out a Christmas gift to his child. Jesus is the greatest gift of all.

Todays subject in Sunday School class was Hell. Did you know Hell was topic that Christ talked about alot? I know a man who says he can't wait to go to Hell because he says that there will be a big party there and he wants to be there. I suppose he doesn't know it will be difficult to party there because it is very dark there. And hot, yet cold, like a fever. It will be full of all the things he hates. Everyone there will hate him. He will be tormented forever, and will be on fire. He can't stand his district representative, so I imagine she'll be right there with him. Matthew 13:42: They will through them into the fire and there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. That doesn't sound like a party.
Dear reader, be aware. There is a hell. It is an awful place. It is where you are going unless you know Jesus. The Bible says it, Jesus says it. That's the way it is. Now, What are you going to do about it?

If we pull out of Iraq, which this is the first step, they will smell blood. They will know we are weak and unwilling to fight for what is right. They already think that because of Viet Nam, where the left in America fought and protested in the streets for Communism, until we pulled out of there and abandoned the South Vietnamese. Communism quickly swept across all of southern Asia and millions were exterminated under Pol Pot and the communist Vietnamese Government.

Now radical Islam is the dragon waiting for America to cave in and abandon Iraq so it can sweep across the Middle East, because it is poised to do so. Then it will have a choking grip on the worlds oil supply. Notice radial Islam breathing down our necks in Venezuela. Evil will join evil. Gone is Teddy Roosevelt! Gone is Franklin Roosevelt! Gone is Harry Truman! Gone is Winston Churchill! Gone is Ronald Reagan!

If America won’t stand up to evil, who will? I see a dark day coming when America is no longer a superpower, and a new, evil empire takes over the world. And there you are voting on some stupid measure that tells the world we don’t have any stomach for fighting evil. God help America!

Beauty Cannot Be Tamed

Beauty cannot be tamed, if it is a wild beauty. When you walk through a forest, you can see the trees growing in every direction, the thickets full of hidden life, secreted away from the human eye but not from the ear. The sun pours down through the trees with such intensity one could never think to cage it. The rains come whenever they see fit, bringing life to every living thing in its path. This is such a beauty that cannot be tamed.

Even if you clear away the trees, the thickets, chase away those who call the forest their home, you never quite succeed in quenching ALL life. The ground still breathes as a forest, no matter if there are houses now resting upon it. The trees still grow, quietly planning and plotting to take back what was once theirs, and still is. The thickets grow in hiding; someday they'll burst throw the metro chaos and join the trees in their revolution. The sun still comes, the rain still drenches, and if you listen carefully, you can hear the voices of the life that made the forest so sacred.

Yet humans can never understand this untamable beauty. We believe that we can rule the world if we so wish, that the universe is our playground. What are we, though, compared to the wonders of the Milky Way, or the amazing act of a doe giving birth to her fawn? We cannot compare ourselves to the sacred acts of nature, or our intelligence to that of the animals. In contrast, humans are self-destructive, uncaring, with no remorse of their hate. But it's not just the hating, the fighting, the loss of life we see on the news every waking hour that sets us apart from nature. It's the wear and tear of the human heart, the pain of losing a loved one, or failing at a goal you hoped to accomplish. Nature knows no failure - only the will and perseverance to survive in a world gone mad. Between the two, which would you rather be a part of: the chaos and noise, or the quiet peacefulness? This you shall only find in nature, and only if you care.

Do not destroy the precious beauty God gave to us. For one, you can never destroy that which creates life, and two, this wild, wild beauty can never be tamed.

I appreciate the Western World raising an outcry over this poor man who became a Christian 15 years ago. I hope all you Christians out there are praying for him. It's Christmas Day and all is quiet. Or maybe it's noisy where you are. What a consumer fest. Or feast. What is it all about? Who came up with this "Christmas" thing, anyway? Why have it? It costs a lot of money.

In order to have a personal relationship with us, His Creation, God came to this planet as one of us. The Almighty God, Creator of all that there is, shed His diety, His glory, His Godliness, like a royal robe, and took on humanity, like an old coat in a second hand store. He was born as a vulnerable baby in a nasty environment to humble parents, one natural, one adopted. He lived with His creation as a man like any other. He claimed to be who He was, God, and so was murdered by those who did not understand. But, He allowed Himself to be murdered. The God of the Universe could have climbed down and zapped all who stood there and jeered. But, hung there until the life from His battered body left. There, on that cross, He paid for all our sins, and we have plenty. He paid for all everywhere and for all time. That's a lot. Then, to prove all He said about His being God, He rose up alive from the dead. No other has done what Christ did. To be with Him we must receive the free gift of Christmas. This is what Christmas is all about. "For God so loved the World that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him will not die forever, but will live forever!" John 3:16.

AAAhh! Christmas! Jesus the King of the Universe is born of Mary in a very lowly place in a nasty place now known as Isreal. It was probably a warm day. I am sure that neither Mary nor Joseph understood what was happening. Most of the world even now do not understand what what happened when Jesus was born.
God has a plan for the world, of which you are a part of, so therefore God has a wonderful plan for your life. But, the bad stuff you do, sin, keeps you apart from God, and keeps you from realizing His plan. And, without God in your life you can never know the true meaning of Christmas. Now, that little baby, Jesus, is God's only provision for the sin in you life. He is the bridge across that gulf of sin. See John 3, Jesus' conversation with Nicodemous. But, it is not enough to just know this. You must receive Jesus as your savior. You need to accept it as truth, just like you believe the chair you are sitting on is going to hold you up. Or that the earth isn't going to suddenly open up and swallow you. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Then you will truly enjoy Christmas in all its true meaning!

Conservatism

My conservative opinions stem directly from my faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and are independant of who is in office and what is their party.
That said, as a conservative I believe that abortion for ANY reason is murder. Don't tell me that what if the baby's head is the size of a watermellon and it should be aborted so it doesn't kill the woman because that is ridiculous. Besides a c-section can be done to save both. This has been done.
By the same token, it is also murder to commit suicide. The Lord does not allow for any exceptions. That means even if an individual has terminal cancer he or she should not ask for assistance in commiting suicide, and it would be wrong to offer such. My mother had terminal cancer. I saw her writhing in pain even with morphine, but the thought never even entered any of our heads in our family to do anything to her, and she never asked.
Murder is a sin.
So, is defending my country by killing people who hate us and want us all to die as the radical muslims do murder? No. Was Jesus a pacifist? No. An example is when he went into the temple and overturned the merchants tables. Jesus went so far as to ensure that the disciples were armed with swords, ancient weapons of self defense and war. Luke 22:36-38 says:
"And He said to them, 'But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one. For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in Me, 'And he was numbered with transgressors'; for that which refers to Me has its fulfillment.' They said, 'Lord, look, here are two swords.' And He said to them, 'It is enough.'" Therefore, defending ourselves, individually and collectively, is right. So, was Harry Truman right when he dropped the bomb? There is new evidence that he knew that Japan was not going to ever back down. To spare many, on both sides, he had to make the hared decision. (In response to David's comment on a previous post, Japan itself is not evil, because Japan is just a political entity and was in WWII not evil as such. But at the time its rulers were. And those in the population of Japan who endorsed such evil, or even who just idly stood by, full knowing what has happening in Japan, or the soldiers participating in the Bataan Death March, or who raped and pillaged in China were evil. Same as in Germany. Much of the population knew what was going on with the slaughter of the Jews and chose to do nothing. That is evil. But not all in Japan and Germany just did nothing, but few did. That is why they had to be stopped.)
Back to the domestic front. A good consevative advocates for a government that governs in accordance with the Constitution, and governs as little as possible so that the private sector does those things which big government believes only it can do. So, charities, such as churches, feed the poor, houses and clothes them. The private sector is much more efficient at these things.

Hey! What's up? You're at this page for a reason, so let me ask you a question. Do you know for sure where you are going when you die? You are going to die you know. You are not indestructible. Do you know when you are going to die? It could be any moment. As you are driving down the freeway look at all the frenzy around you. It could involve you in a very negative way at any time. So where are you going when it's all over? If you say "I'm going to Heaven!" why do you think so? Is it all the good deeds that you have done throughout your life? Or that you just haven't done anything really bad? Well, I have some really bad news for you. You can't possibly do anything to merit being in Heaven. But, there is hope! Jesus said "You must be born again!"
So how do you do this? ...First of all, blow the dust off your Bible and crack it open....Start thinking about this: You are a sinner and your sin keeps you separated from God, because he is perfect and doesn't like sin. Read Romans 3:23 It says"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
What is sin? It is disobeying God. It is that which separates us from Him. And we are all guilty; the Pope, George Bush, John Kerry, your mom, the mailman, your neighbor ...and you. Everyone has bad thoughts. Many people cuss, hit each other, get drunk, and hate others. Don't believe you sin? E-mail me; we need to talk.
Let's say you accept the fact that you sin. "So what? Every one does it. Not everyone is going to Hell." Well, now, what does the Bible say about that. Turn to Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." What does the first part of that sentence say? Wages is something you receive, so for sin you receive death, which means Hell, eternal death. That means separation from God forever and eternal torment. But, the second half of that sentence offers hope! And, it says there is a free gift involved. That means you don't have to work for it. Who paid for this free gift, and what is the gift? Jesus The Messiah paid for it with his life and Eternal Life is the gift.
...But to receive a gift you have to reach out and grab it. God is reaching out his hand. All you have to do is grab it.

Recently found this blog from NPR radio in Seattle. As you know NPR is liberal, sucking off the taxpayer nipple. The blog is from a show called "Open Source" (not "Open Sores"). It is an internet interactive show in that you can post commentsbefore during and after the show goes on. When I first listened it was about the so-called Downing street memo. Most of the comments were anti-Bush, causing my temp to rise so I wrote:

Do you honestly think that they just sat by and thought nothing of Hitler at the time? No, they were thinking, as was the rest of the country, “What are we going to do if we have to go to war with Germany or Japan?” You folks on the left don’t understand Evil or what to do about it. “If you leave it alone long enough maybe it’ll go away.” But it doesn’t. Jane Fonda, Christian?

Just read story in http://drudgereport.com/ about Jane Fonda. She is impressed with George Bush. Good! Me too. Seems those that don't like him just squaack back the stuff they read in the Seattle Post-Intel. or late night KIRO radio, but they don't have a clue about him.
Now Ms. Fonda says that she is a Christian but that she believes "it's metaphor, written by people a long time after Christ died. And interpreted by specific groups." It's not metaphor, it's reality. From http://christiananswers.net/home.html:

The definition of a Christian is a follower of Christ and how can you be a follower of Christ if you only believe that he is a metaphor? If he is only a metaphor and not 100% real than he does not exist, only in mens minds. But, if he does exist, as I believe, then he is who he said he was, the one who is the only God as described in the Bible and is thonly One worthy to be praised. To follow Him is to be a Christian.
Galations 1: 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!
10Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Just got back from Ohio to visit my dad. He is doing better, although he has some swelling in his feet. He and I are on opposite sides of the political spectrum, even though we are both Christians. If you are wondering how can a person be Christian and a liberal at the same time, it is possible. I'm sure he wonders the same about me, that how can you be a Republican and be a Christian. Well, ask me.

Watch out for "happy slapping". http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,3604,1470161,00.html It is nothing but the beginnings of ultraviolence. Have you ever seen the movie Clockwork Orange, about a gang of thugs that go around beating up people for no reason. Happy slapping, started in England, is where kids with video phones go up to other kids at school and hit them in the face while recprding the assult on their phone. Not just at school, either, but also people waiting at cash machines, or parks. Watch out.

The Pope is just a man. Romans 3:23 say "All have sinned. All fall short of the glory of God."
To have an entire religion based on Peter is crazy. Peter was a ner-do-well. Bold though. I love Peter, but he was a sinner too. During this whole time with the Pope where is the mention of Christ? He is the only one worthy to be praised.
Don't get me wrong. The old pope was a great man. So was Ronald Reagan, Winston Churchill, Margret Thatcher (who actually is a woman), Augastine, Martin Luther. Even Mary was a sinner. I've heard that Catholics believe she did not sin. Is that true, my catholic bretheren? But that's not Biblical: We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on HIM the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6. That HIM is Jesus. Jesus alone.
I'm not bashing. Just trying to get a conversation going. Wadya think?

The Grim Reaper seems to be King in this world. You have abortion on demand, teenage kids dressing up in all black wandering through their schools shooting at and killing anyone that moves, millions in Africa sitting in the dirt dying, and just recently, beheadings in Iraq. Now Terri Schivo has been murdered by an entire society, with her husband, the appeals court in Florida, the Democrats (not all), the Supreme Court of the United States, the police all struggling to kill Mrs. Schivo as fast as, or as slow as, they could. If you are not careful, someone is going to come along and kill you, too, and nobody will care, except Jesus. He cares. He knows about the culture of death. He's been there.

The world is witnessing a giant culture change in the Middle East and that is why there is so much violence.
