A Bomb
I noticed an article today about the anniversary of Hiroshima. I also noticed no mention of the Baatan March, atrocities in China, no mention whatsoever of the reason for the A Bomb. No mention of Islamic terrorists with nuclear material, by the way. Just that the US is bad and we need to get rid of our nukes. Like ostriches with their head in the sand yelling into the dirt!

What does Islam have to do with dropping the bomb in WWII? You speak of events a half-century ago as if they are today; as if the Japanese are Al Queda. I bet the article doesn't mention the anthrax killer and his fundementalist Christian beliefs. Well, duh!
Do you really believe the "Islamic terrorists" would be *more* likely to be threatening us with nukes today if we didn't use the bomb to win WWII?
Regardless of whether the WWII bombs were "good" or "bad", thinking that dropping them somehow *slowed* development of nuclear technology is just naive.

You missed my point, too. I was just irked that the story I read on the internet:

about a marking of the anniversary of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The story was about how many people died in the bombing of Hiroshima, how tragic it was, hopefully nuclear bombs are never used again, and a "peace museum", etc. I noted that there was no mention for the reason for the bomb, to bring an evil regime bent on world domination and torture of Japans captives that was most shocking, such as rape and torture, real torture. Yes, there were reasons for not dropping it, the bomb, but there compelling reasons to do so, as noted.
The mention of Islamic nukes was a throw out there and will be discussed later. However, let it be noted that Sadam had WMD because he had already used them, as noted by many prominent democrates, such as Bill Clinton, who bombed Iraq.
